Small Pieces

One of my New Year's resolutions was to clean up the studio a bit, beat back the accumulated bedlam.  Part of the chaos is a small pile of watercolor paper scraps, leftovers from prepping larger paintings.  So, in an attempt to shrink the pile, I've been doing some small studies, mostly alternate versions of cars that show up in larger paintings.  No mermaids, tentacles, or improbable situations, just a pure vehicular experience.

As it turns out, the rear engine layout of the Chevrolet Corvair Van makes it extremely maneuverable in all kinds of waves (in my mind).
